MENDOTA - Former Mendota teacher Winafred “Winnie” Lovgren committed 46 years of her life to educating the children of our community. Winnie’s legacy carries on through the thousands of “ladybugs, fat cats, and queen bees” she taught.
This past week, members of the Mendota Education Association (MEA) presented Northbrook School with a flag in honor of Mrs. Lovgren’s memory. Because of her passion for history, MEA believes this would make her incredibly proud. In addition, a donation was made to the 1st Lutheran Church’s Ohio School Buddy Bags Program, a cause Winnie championed as well. Helping children succeed in reaching their full potential was her lifelong pursuit, and her dedication will not be forgotten.
