Lincoln students make custom choppers

Posted

Fourth graders Owen Willoughby and Daniel Pierce work together to customize their “monster chopper,” March 13. Last week, students built the motorcycles out of wood, nuts, bolts and PVC. This week the third and fourth graders continued by customizing their bikes with decorative seats, fenders, and lights, etc. Materials used included colored paper, cardboard, streamers, markers, and even bubble wrap. A collection of photos of students building and customizing the motorcycles is on STEAM teacher Amy Brewer’s webpage at https://sites.google.com/m289.org/steam2018-19/home. The choppers are on loan free of charge from the Center for Mathematics, Science and Technology (CeMaST) at Illinois State University. (Reporter photo by Jennifer Sommer)
