LA MOILLE - Judy L. Washburn, 71, of LaMoille, passed away Nov. 3, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Nov. 8 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Trey Washburn officiating. Burial will be at Hill Cemetery, south of LaMoille. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services on Monday.

Judy was born May 27, 1950 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Wilfred and Mary (Slusher) Steinhauer. She married Ron Washburn on June 4, 1966 in Portsmouth.

Survivors include her husband of LaMoille; two sons, Larry (Denise) Steinhauer of Kentucky and Zip Washburn of Mississippi; two daughters, Rhonda (Dave) Johnson of Mendota and Sherry (Andy) Fahr of Earlville; one sister-in-law, Linda Steinhauer; 12 grandchildren, Brad Steinhauer, Erica Steinhauer, Christan Steinhauer, Aaron Steinhauer, Lakeya Steinhauer, Brandon Steinhauer, Jenny (Josh) Lara, Destiny (Tanner) Price, Trey (Hope) Washburn, Chandler (Taylor) Washburn, Logan Fahr and Addyson Fahr; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, Jerry Steinhauer; one sister, Mildred York; one daughter-in-law, Sheila Washburn; three grandsons, DJ Johnson, Jonathon Johnson and Jake Banasik; and her father- and mother-in-law, Junior and Francis Washburn.

Judy worked in home care for many years and was a homemaker. She was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation but because of who she was.
