IVAC program to address ‘Sexual Harassment in the Workplace’

PERU - The Illinois Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development (IVAC) will hold a virtual Business Breakfast Seminar to discuss “Sexual Harassment in the Workplace: What you need to know about the new laws.” The meeting will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, July 8 beginning at 9 a.m.

After almost two years of work by the Senate Task Force on Sexual Harassment, on Jan. 1 Governor Pritzker signed sweeping legislation for employers regarding sexual harassment in the workplace. The legislation requires a variety of changes for employers including mandatory anti-harassment training, reporting requirements for final verdicts and decisions, and substantial revisions to employment policies and employment and severance agreements. The webinar will review these changes.

Guest speaker will be Julie Proscia, an equity partner at SmithAmundsen, who has advocated for employers for over 15 years.

The meeting is open to the public.
