MENDOTA - The American Red Cross held a blood drive on June 29 at the Mendota Moose Family Center. There were 85 presenting donors and 90 good units were collected.

Great turnout at June 29 bloodmobile in Mendota

MENDOTA - The American Red Cross held a blood drive on June 29 at the Mendota Moose Family Center. There were 85 presenting donors and 90 good units were collected. This included 72 whole blood and 18 double red cell donations. Organizers reported a great turnout, and they expressed their appreciation to everyone who donated as well as the volunteers who helped out.

First time donors included Jonathan Schramm, Michelle Schramm, Judy Thornburg, Maria Pawlak and Deb Rogers. Multi-gallon donors, Erin McCoy and Andrew Wujek - one gallon; Tina Kittilson, Rob Baughman and Cindy Schultz - three gallons; Matt Crew - eight gallons; Mel Harth - 16 gallons; Verona Whitmore - 23 gallons; and Ronald Brunoehler - 41 gallons, were congratulated on these milestones.

Volunteers for the day included Sandy Schroeder, Margy Frey, Peg Mathesius-Cerveny, Lori Schlesinger, Kristi Carroll and Lori Simonton. Mendota Subway again donated sandwiches for the donor luncheon. First State Bank also sponsored sandwiches and chips for the drive.
