MENDOTA - Graves-Hume Public Library is hosting a blood drive with a donor bus through ImpactLife on Saturday, Aug. 21 from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Donations made with ImpactLife support OSF hospitals in Mendota and communities throughout our region.
Donors will receive their choice of an ImpactLife performance pullover or a gift card. “I love the idea of donating blood at the library! We strive to keep your mind and body healthy!” said Emily Kofoid, library director.
Blood donations are often used to help treat patients with cancer, victims of trauma and patients undergoing major surgeries. All persons, ages 17 and up (or 16, with a signed parental permission form) who weigh at least 110 lbs. and are in general good health, meet the basic eligibility requirements for blood donation.
For more information about donating blood, call ImpactLife at (800) 747-5401 or visit www.bloodcenter.org to register for an appointment. If you have questions about the library’s blood drive, contact Kofoid at (815) 538-5142.
