PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. - Gerald “Jerry” Cassidy, 66, of Peachtree Corners, Ga., formerly of Mendota, passed away March 30, 2020 from complications due to the Coronavirus – COVID-19.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Jerry was born Feb. 13, 1954 to George Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” Cassidy. He married Miriam Englett on Feb. 18, 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam; one stepson, Travis (Contessa) Henderson; one stepdaughter, Lori (Wayne) Dodson; two sisters, Nancy Cassidy and Patti (Jack) Karch; eight brothers, Jim (Barb), Don (Roberta), Robert (Chris), Richard, Kevin (Carol), Thomas (Janet), Martin (Marcia) and Jeffery (Francesca); three grandchildren, Hayden, Clay and Chaney; one aunt, Mary (Bill) Hardy; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Jr.(Hao) and Dennis (Chris); one sister, Julie Carlson; and one sister-in-law, Nancy (Richard) Cassidy.
Jerry was a 1972 graduate of Mendota Township High School and of Illinois State University. He was president and owner of Shamrock Salvage & Appraisal, Inc. specializing in commercial property and asset recovery.
