The group’s recent meetings have been held outdoors but with winter approaching, they will start meeting via Zoom. The Zoom meetings will take place from 4-6 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month. Please contact Sue Bromme-Winger at suzie_b12@hotmail.com for questions concerning the organization or to join the next meeting. They invite professional educators to join them.
During the Chapter’s last socially distanced meeting, Early Educators’ Awards were presented. The recipients included Maddie Pearson, a first-year language arts teacher from Logan Junior High School in Princeton; Marcia Caldwell, a second-year teach of special needs children at Douglas Elementary School in Princeton; Tess Heidenreich, a first-year teacher at Ohio Community Schools; and Caseelyn Johnston, a third-year agriculture teacher in the Bureau Valley Junior High and High School district.
Attendees also heard a presentation by Dennis Thompson, who spoke about the Marquis Energy incentive program for high schools throughout the county. This program provides mentoring and incentives for certain students to make marked progress within their schools.
