OGLESBY - To meet the current demand for online horticultural programming, the University of Illinois Extension’s State Horticulture Team has expanded the Spring Series to run weekly until May 26 in addition to the traditional three webinar options. These additional webinar offerings are focused on extending the beauty and productivity of this year’s garden.
Five new offerings to the Spring Series will start at 1:30 p.m. each Tuesday and are free to the public. The additional webinars being offered by horticulture educators are as follows:
“Gardening 101” with Ken Johnson - April 21
“Colorful Vegetables” with Bruce Black - April 28
“New Perennial Garden Theory” with Kelly Allsup - May 12
“Creating a Pollinator Garden for Small Spaces” with Jennifer Fishburn - May 19
The programs are offered via live webinar from anywhere there is internet access by pre-registering at go.illinois.edu/fourseasons. Recorded videos of these sessions can be viewed following the program at go.illinois.edu/fourseasonsrecordings. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, offices are closed and viewing options are not available at those locations.
The initial topics in the spring series will include:
“Landscape Design with Natives 101” - May 5 at 1:30 p.m.
“Illinois Monarch Action Plan” - May 26 at 1:30 p.m.
All sessions are free to the public. Advance registration is needed.
