OGLESBY - Certified Crop Advisors and others interested are encouraged to sign up for the upcoming Soil Fertility Seminar sponsored by University of Illinois Extension on Thursday, Feb. 28. The seminar will be held at University of Illinois Extension on the IVCC campus in Oglesby.
Presentations will be delivered via PowerPoint and web conferencing from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. The webinar qualifies for 2 CEU credits in Soil & Water Management, and 2.5 CEU credits in Nutrient Management.
“Those in attendance will hear about the latest University of Illinois research on the long term effects of crop rotation and tillage, as well as the relationship between cover crops and soil nitrogen availability. Other presenters from the University of Wisconsin, Western Illinois University, and the Illinois SWCD will discuss nutrient loss on tile drained land, nutrient management in organic systems, and a farmer-led program to improve soil health,” says Jesse Soule, U of I Extension Commercial Agriculture Educator.
The seminar will be held in Room CTC 124 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch is included in the registration fee of $45 along with program materials or the cost is $15 per person without CEU Credit. Advance registration is required by Feb. 25.
