LA SALLE - Spend the morning learning while having some fun at the University of Illinois Extension Education Center & Community Teaching Kitchen in LaSalle with a Make and Take Peach Apple Salsa Class. This hands-on class will take place on Saturday, Aug. 21 from 8:30 a.m.-noon.
Susan Glassman, Nutrition and Wellness Educator, will teach participants how to can fruits and vegetables safely using a water-bath canner. Gain hands-on experience as everyone washes, peels, chops, measures, cooks and processes Peach Apple Salsa together. Then take home a jar to enjoy.
This class is for all ages - from those who are just learning to seasoned preservers. A $15 fee will cover the purchase of all supplies, just bring yourself. Class size is limited to 12.
