COMPTON - Edward Cledis Nelson, 67, of Compton passed away May 30, 2020 at his residence.

Cremation rites have been accorded and private burial will be in Dundee. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota assisted the family.

Edward was born Nov. 18, 1952 in Jonesboro, Ark. to James Alfred and Viola Imojean (Mabry) Nelson.

Survivors include his father; two brothers, Gary Nelson and Bob Nelson; one sister, Brenda Lietzow; two sons, James F. Nelson and Jason W. Nelson; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Casey, Seth and Jonathan.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 2019 and one brother, Boyd Nelson.

Edward loved to watch drag racing and go fishing. He very much enjoyed drinking coffee with his father.
