Drive-thru COVID-19 testing site to open in Ottawa

OTTAWA – The LaSalle County Health Department is holding a drive-thru COVID-19 Community Based Testing Site (CBTS), which will open on Wednesday, June 17 at the LaSalle County Emergency Management Agency Building, 711 E. Etna Road, Ottawa. The site will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will run by appointment only. 

This testing site is open to all regardless of symptoms, and no doctor’s order is required. There will be no fee for this test.

Individuals are required to schedule an appointment by calling (815) 433-3366 prior to arriving on site. When scheduling an appointment, instructions will be provided for wearing a mask and directions will be given for how to drive into the site. A photo ID will be required for the test.

Patients utilizing drive-thru testing sites must be seated at a functioning window. Once a person is in line at the testing site, they are not be permitted to exit their car. For the safety of testing personnel, drive-thru sites will not be able to accommodate walk-up individuals.

All individuals with symptoms are encouraged to seek testing. Symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
