MENDOTA - Dale Denault, 91, of Mendota, passed away Oct. 13, 2021 at OSF Saint Paul Medical Center, Mendota.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 18 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Larry Sheaves officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota with military honors by Mendota VFW Post 4079. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
Dale was born June 15, 1930 in Mendota to Harold and Effie (Runyon) Denault. He married Ava Williams on May 26, 1950 at First United Methodist Church, Mendota.
Survivors include his wife of Mendota; one daughter, Kathy (Don) Borelli of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sons, Jerry (Diane) Denault of Mendota and Ron (Ruth) Denault of Princeton; one sister, Patricia Kossert of Aurora; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, LaVerne Denault; and one granddaughter, Courtney Denault.
Dale was a 1948 graduate of Mendota High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Mendota Farm Supply for 25 years and was a part time police officer in Mendota for many years. He and Roger Sheridan started the Mendota Ambulance Service and served as assistant director for 20 years. Dale was a member of the American Legion and First United Methodist Church where he served on numerous boards. He enjoyed raising tropical fish, tending to his garden and traveling. He loved his family more than anything.
