MENDOTA - Roger and Jean (Sondgeroth) Simkins celebrated their 50th anniversary on Nov. 21, 2020.

They were married at Holy Cross Church in Mendota by Rev. Charles Karl on Saturday, Nov. 21, 1970. A Mass of Thanksgiving for God’s blessings was celebrated on Nov. 21, 2020 at Holy Cross with the immediate family.

Roger and Jean were blessed with three children, Ryan (Carrie) of Naperville along with sons Owen and Aidan; Corry (Jennifer) of Lockport, along with sons Ethan and Alex ; and Trina (Ryan “Bart”) Barnard of Crestview, Fla. with their children, Addison, Brendan and Camryn.

Roger retired from Caterpillar/Aurora after 32 years of service. Jean retired from Black Bros. Co. after 25 years of service and then went on to a career in sales for Cygnus Business Media, followed by five years as travel coordinator with the Vista Club for First State Bank. They both enjoy keeping active with activities and travel, when possible.
