Carl’s Quiz 6-16

Mintonette was the original name of what sport?

The answer to last week’s quiz is: The modern zipper was first used on rubber boots that were produced by the B.F. Goodrich Co. In his 1917 patent, inventor Gideon Sundback named his creation the ‘separable fastener’ but the name was changed to ‘zipper’ by B.F. Goodrich. It took another 20 years until the fashion industry was finally convinced to begin using zippers on garments.
