MENDOTA - A dog is protected against the rainy conditions by a doggy raincoat as its owner takes it for a walk on May 14 in Mendota. Heavy thunderstorms pounded the Mendota area over a two-day period, producing nearly five inches of rain. Flooding and wind damage that took down trees and damaged some structures was reported in Sublette, Paw Paw and Amboy. After a two-day respite, the soggy conditions returned as another three and a half inches of rain drenched the area on May 17.
