PRINCETON - The Bureau County Genealogical Society’s May program will feature Jacquie Schattner who will speak on the topic, “European and U.S. Newspapers and Directories—Good News.”
This virtual program will be presented on Zoom at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 27. The public is invited to request a link for the program by e-mailing the Society by May 24 at bureaucounty@gmail.com.
Schattner, who lives in the Chicago suburbs, is a member of CAGGNI (Computer Assisted Genealogy Group) and is a frequent speaker in Illinois. She will discuss how newspapers and directories can be the key to finding ancestors.
BCGS has also announced that they are reopening to the public now on their regular schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and also on the first Saturday of each month.
