MENDOTA - Betty J. Sears, 74, of Mendota passed away at home on Aug. 25, 2020.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation or services. A celebration of life will be held at a late date. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota assisted the family with arrangements.

Betty was born Oct. 29, 1945 in Aurora to James and Sara (Eads) Miller. She married Dennis Sears on Dec. 8, 1969.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years; one daughter, Shannon (Jeff) Morey of Mendota; two grandchildren, Keely and Jeremy Morey of Mendota; and three grand-cats, Mater, Enzo and Milo Morey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gary Miller and Jack Miller.

Betty grew up in Downers Grove. She loved nature very much as her favorite place to visit was Boulder Junction, Wis., while her favorite bird was a loon. She loved to bake and cook family recipes and loved her granddaughter’s cooking as well. She cherished time with her family.
