DAVENPORT, Iowa - Benjamin T. Hochstatter III, 74, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Aug. 10, 2021, from complications due to a kidney transplant in April and heart condition.

DAVENPORT, Iowa - Benjamin T. Hochstatter III, 74, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Aug. 10, 2021, from complications due to a kidney transplant in April and heart condition.

A Memorial Mass will be held at noon on Saturday, Aug. 28 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 4105 N. Division St., Davenport. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 10 a.m. to noon. Burial will be at a later date at Cedar Memorial in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Benjamin was born Dec. 22, 1946 in Amboy to Benjamin T. Jr. and Midge Hochstatter.

Survivors include his wife, Martha “Marty;” one daughter, Erin Hochstatter (Michael) Crismali; a step son, Aaron (Sheryl) Calvert and step daughter, Amy (John) Calvert; four sisters, Diana (Jim) Egan, Gwen Krenz, Jaci Bend and Deb (Brian) Corrigan; one brother, Neil (Kris) Hochstatter; a sister-in-law, Shelly Svoboda; step grandchildren, Evan Calvert, Eric (Abby) Calvert, Trevor and Abby-Grey Calvert, and Anden and Abry Harrington; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and his two best friends from childhood, Dennis Klein and Mike Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maycell and Jeff McCartney.

Ben grew up in Mendota before joining the U.S. Army to serve in Vietnam from 1967-1968.After returning from the Army, he attended and graduated from Northern Illinois University. He worked in human resources for many years. He was a member of the local VFW and Legion, and Our Lady of Victory Church in Davenport. In his free time, he loved spending time with his family.
