PRINCETON - The Bureau County Fair Board is currently planning the upcoming Bureau County Fair, which is scheduled for Aug. 26-30. The health and safety of fair-goers is their top priority and they will continue to work with local agencies over the next several months to ensure the safety of guests as they prepare for the 165th annual Bureau County Fair.

The planned grandstand entertainment includes Adult & Youth Talent Shows, Martina McBride concert, Truck & Tractor Pull, Demolition Derby, and a Salute to Veterans event. Tickets for the Martina McBride concert are on sale now at http://www.bureaucountyfair.com.

Pat Repp, general manager of North American Midway Entertainment, stated, “I have been coming to Princeton for 30 years and at this time feel confident that we will be able to work together with the Bureau County Fair Board for a great 165th Bureau County Fair. We are currently looking to make changes within our company to bring a bigger carnival unit with more rides to Princeton. We hope that everyone stays safe and we look forward to a great fair in August.”

Kathy Bauer, executive secretary, noted that the fairgrounds is a very busy place year-round. “We are dealing with events that have been cancelled due to the virus,” she said. “We are currently working on rescheduling those events and planning for the upcoming months. Since 1865, the Bureau County Fair has only missed one year. That was due to the fairgrounds being used as a campground for soldiers during the Civil War. We are continuing to plan to make the 165^th annual Bureau County Fair a safe and fun event for the entire family.”
