LA SALLE - Calling all Harry Potter fans! Join the LaSalle Library on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. when they virtually host culinary travel guide, anglophile and former U.K resident, Claire Evans, for her presentation, “Pottering Around the U.K: Real-Life Locations from the World of Harry Potter.”
In this program, armchair travelers will explore and discover the historic, scenic and culinary delights of Harry Potter’s magical world in this unique virtual presentation. From the West Country to Scotland, and points in between, admire the amazing real-life locations film scouts picked throughout the best of the British Isles.
Evans started her love of most things British as she and her mother watched countless episodes of “Are You Being Served,” “Fawlty Towers” and “The Vicar of Dibley” on PBS. She went on to study abroad in London, marry a British guy she met in Peoria, and move to England for several years, where she got an immersive education in modern English cooking, pub dining, tea shops, and welly boots for every occasion.
