Finance experts to give talks during Money Smart Week

PRINCETON – In recognition of Money Smart Week, a number of programs have been scheduled for the week of April 22-29 by the Princeton Public Library.

The library is kicking off events on Friday, April 21 with the I-Cash Unclaimed Property team from 1-5 p.m. Representatives from The Illinois State Treasurer’s Office connects people with their missing cash and other assets.

The following week local business and finance experts will be presenting programs on various topics, including: Investing, presented by Heartland Bank on Monday, April 24 at 3 p.m.; Identity Theft and Scams, presented by Heartland Bank on Tuesday, April 25 at 4 p.m.; Investing for College presented by HBT Investment Services on Wednesday, April 26 at 2 p.m.; Buying or Selling a Home presented by First State Bank on Wednesday, April 26 at 4:30 p.m.; Retirement Planning presented by Thrivent Financial on Thursday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m.; and Estate Planning presented by Jim Angel, attorney, on Friday, April 28 at 4 p.m.

Money Smart Week began as a coordinated effort of the Money Smart Advisory Council, a diverse group of more than 40 Chicago-area organizations working together to
promote personal financial literacy.
