Ottawa struck for seven runs in the first inning en route to a 13-0 triumph over Mendota in a non-conference varsity softball game on April 30 at the MHS field. The game was stopped after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

After the seven-run first, the Pirates pushed across five runs in the second and one in the third.

Two Ottawa pitchers limited Mendota to one hit, a single by Ava Eddy. Ottawa totaled 10 safeties.

Eddy was the losing pitcher.

Erie-Prophetstown downed Mendota, 17-1, on May 3 at the MHS field.

The Panthers scored five runs in three of the four innings played despite only collecting seven hits in the contest.

Mendota’s lone run came in the third and was driven in by a Madelyn Becker single.

Eddy was in the circle and took the loss. Only seven of the 17 runs scored by E-P were earned.
