Bureau Co. Fair adds new classifications for quilt entries

The Bureau County Fair Board and the Illinois Valley Quilts of Valor have announced the addition of three new classes added to the Textiles Department for the 164th annual Bureau County Fair. The classes give new options for people to enter and show their talents in quilting at the 2019 fair, Aug. 21-25 in Princeton.

KC offering ACE Personal Fitness Trainer Certification Exam Prep this fall

Kishwaukee College Community Education is offering ACE Personal Fitness Trainer Certification Exam Preparation during the Fall 2019 semester. The class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Aug. 27 through Dec. 17.

John Stenzel takes over as acting mayor of the Village of Sublette

Sublette Village Trustee John Stenzel, who is a former Sublette Village Board president for 16 years and village trustee for 10 years, was approved by a vote of 5-1 to be named acting mayor of the Village of Sublette for the two years left on Sublette Village Board President Michael Vaessen’s term.

The Kishwaukee College Foundation invites the public to the second annual Wine Walk on Aug. 1 on Kish campus from 4-7 p.m. Join over 100 guests to taste wine and spirits from local vendors. Proceeds from the event will support the Foundation.
