MENDOTA – Russ and Sherry Volkert of 2107 Diana Drive, Mendota will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 31.

Russ Volkert and the former Sherry Demoret were married on Oct. 31, 1970 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mendota. Attendants were Susan Sinclair, Claudia Jewel, Chris Jones, Dennie Piller, Dean Ege and Ron Henkel.

They are parents of Tim (Penny) Volkert, Kelly Gomez and Kim (Dan) Truckenbrod. Grandchildren are Luke Volkert, the late Lauren Volkert, Lexi Wamhoff, Libby Wamhoff, Knowlton Wamhoff, Gabe Wamhoff, Alexis Gomez, Aiden Gomez, Quinton Truckenbrod, Kylynn Truckenbrod, Amelia Truckenbrod and Anthony Truckenbrod.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration will be held at a later date.
