UTICA – Sisters Bella Hagenbuch and Mae Hagenbuch participated in the USA Curling U21 Junior National Championships held April 1-6 at the Bowling Green Curling Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Hagenbuch sisters won the bronze medal, finishing third in the US.

Local group claims bronze in U21 Junior Championships

UTICA – Sisters Bella Hagenbuch and Mae Hagenbuch participated in the USA Curling U21 Junior National Championships held April 1-6 at the Bowling Green Curling Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Hagenbuch sisters won the bronze medal, finishing third in the US.

Bella and Mae, of Utica, have been curling locally out of Waltham Curling Club in Triumph since 2014. Bella now attends Marquette University and curls at the Milwaukee Curling Club in Cedarburg, Wis. Mae is a junior at St. Bede Academy in Peru.

The Hagenbuch sisters have found success at National events before. Both girls won silver at Mixed Nationals in 2022, gold at Mixed Nationals in 2023, and Mae won a silver medal at U18 Junior Nationals in January of 2025. After winning gold at Mixed Nationals in 2023, they went on to be Team USA at the World Mixed Championships, taking home a ninth-place finish out of 36 teams.
