UTICA – Guided hikes and lunch began on June 6 at Starved Rock State Park and will continue being offered on Saturdays and Sundays through June 28.
The tour will check in at 9:45 a.m. in the hotel lobby where participants will meet the guide and get their lunches. The hike will depart at 10 a.m. and go to Wildcat Canyon, Eagle Cliff and Lover’s Leap and then return around noon.
To ensure social distancing while eating, hikers will have lunch upon return from the hike at Fox Ridge. Lunch includes: choice of ham, turkey or veggie wrap, piece of fruit, bag of chips, snack and bottle of water. The cost is $20 per person. There is a limit of nine people for this tour.
Reservations must be made by calling the Activities Department at Starved Rock Lodge (815) 220-7386 or by stopping by the front desk at the Lodge.
Starting on Saturday, June 13, Starved Rock Lodge will again offer boat rides. This tour will run Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays thru June 29. Departure times are noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The cost is $20 per person.
Attendees will board the trolley outside of the Great Hall of the Lodge and go to the Eagle I for a one-hour river cruise on the Illinois River. After the cruise, the trolley will return to the Lodge and the tour concludes. There is a limit of eight people for this tour.
