The Mendota Spikers opened the 2021 volleyball season with a two-set victory over Putnam County, 25-17, 25-23, on Aug. 24 at Granville.
Marah Setchell paced the attack with eight kills and four blocks. Lauren Martin led with four ace serves and 16 digs. Kya Delao picked up nine assists, while Paige Manning supplied four kills and Meredith McConville added three blocks.

The Spikers moved to 2-0 on the season with a 25-12, 25-5 decision over Amboy in the home opener on Aug. 26.
Setchell, McConville and Bailey Baird led the net game with four kills apiece. Lauren Martin provided 16 digs and Delao posted 13 assists.
