MENDOTA – Ruth C. Delhotal, 90, of Mendota, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at Allure of Mendota surrounded by her loving family.

Cremation care has been provided by Horner-Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.  Monday, March 17, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 398 Church Road, Compton, with Pastor Jeff Schlesinger officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Monday. Interment will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Ruth was born May 9, 1934, in Mendota, the daughter of Homer and Edith (Martin) Schmidt. She was raised by her aunt, Eunice (Virgil) Gorrell.

Ruth is survived by her children, Edie (Bob Dellinger) Thompson, Kelly (Joe) Stewart, Tracy Quindoy, and Robert "Bob" (Tammy) Frizol; stepchildren, Mary (Sylvia) Lemus, Gordon Delhotal Jr., Laura McSeaton, John Delhotal, and Brian Delhotal; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Sharon) Howarth; numerous nieces and nephews; and her longtime companion, Bruce Wilhelm.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Delhotal; three sons, Victor Frizol, Michael "Mike" Frizol, and Edward "Eddy" Frizol; two sisters, Mary Jean Schmidt and Norma Ecklund; and four brothers, William Schmidt, Daniel Schmidt, Robert Schlesinger, and Harold Schlesinger.
