AMBOY – Robert E. Lewis (Bobby, Bobby-lou, Bob), 68, of Amboy, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Goldwater Care of Princeton.

Per Bob's wishes, a private family only service was held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Horner-Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota. His niece, Rev. Maria Bonine, officiated.

He was born the oldest of four siblings at Mendota Community Hospital on Feb. 6, 1957, to John R. and Carol R. (Ossman) Lewis.

Bob is survived by four children, Amy Smith, Kevin (Kelly) Lewis, Harley (Stephanie) Hayes, and Jeana (Tony) Lewis; three siblings, Kathy (Darren King) Zimmerly, Dawn (Brian Anderson) Cores, and Terry (Deana Hermes) Wendel; four half siblings, Darryl Lewis, Brenda Palmer, Susan (Hugh) McCoy, and Connie (Jon) Yambert; as well as many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Carol Wendel and John and Judith Lewis; nephew, John Zimmerly; and half-sister Sherry Zerbe.
Many who knew him called him "Crazy Uncle Bob," even if he wasn't related to them. He enjoyed junking, riding his Harley, driving fast cars, wrenching, and furious women. During his lifetime, Bob accumulated a treasure chest of stories and adventures, which he loved to share with whoever he met.
