MENDOTA – The Mendota Historical Society is bringing back one of its most popular events this summer. Railroad Heritage Day will be held on Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Union Depot Railroad Museum, 783 Main St., Mendota.

This one-day event will feature lots of great history focused activities and exhibits. The day will include activities for people of all ages.

Among the outstanding things on the docket will be a display of antique cars and trucks, barrel train rides for the children and a vintage inspection car. In addition, the Old West Regulators will be there to stage a robbery of the on-site historic mail car.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase and music will be provided by local favorite, Ray Tutaj. The event will go ahead rain or shine. This is going to be fun for the entire family.

According to Historical Society board member Alan Russell, “This event has always been a favorite with the community. After taking a break from it last year, we wanted to be sure to bring it back for 2025.”
