Nine Trojans achieve TRAC all-conference soccer honors for '21 season


MENDOTA – The Mendota Trojans dominated the Three Rivers Conference all-conference selections for the 2021 boys’ soccer season with nine players achieving the honor.

Seven Trojans earned first-team honors, including the only two unanimous choices to the 13-player team. Capturing votes from all of the conference coaches were Mendota senior Yahir Diaz and junior Rafael Romero. Other Trojans making the first team were senior Josue Arteaga and juniors David Garcia, Johnathan Cortez and Jasiel Watson. Mendota senior Manny Trejo was chosen the first-team goal keeper.

Two Trojan players were selected to the second team. They were senior Luis Garcia and junior Edgar Arteaga.

Mendota finished the conference season with a perfect 6-0 mark. Orion/Sherrard was second with a 4-1-1 mark, followed by Monmouth-Roseville at 3-1-2, Hall/DePue at 2-2-1, Riverdale at 2-4-1, Princeton at 0-2-3 and Kewanee at 0-4-1.
