Mendota wrestlers open season

AMBOY – Mendota opened the new wrestling season with a triangular meet at Amboy on Nov. 23.

The Trojans dropped a 27-24 decision to the host Clippers. Ethan Hanaman (152) and Logan West (285) won their matches by pin for Mendota, while Jose Hermosillo (138) and Diego Sandoval (195) were forfeit winners.

St. Bede scored a 66-12 triumph over the Trojans. Hanaman pinned his opponent at 152 and Danny Juan Gama picked up a pin win at 285.
