DUNCAN, Okla. - Marie (Dean) Booth Rodgers Gowin, 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 23, 2021 in Duncan, Okla. due to complications of COPD surrounded by her daughter, Sherry and son-in-law, Donald, along with Marjorie Rolles, a close friend of the family, and her hospice family.

DUNCAN, Okla. - Marie (Dean) Booth Rodgers Gowin, 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 23, 2021 in Duncan, Okla. due to complications of COPD surrounded by her daughter, Sherry and son-in-law, Donald, along with Marjorie Rolles, a close friend of the family, and her hospice family.

A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14 at Country Baptist Church in Point, Texas with Brother (Daddy) Mike Frazier officiating. All are invited to attend. Internment will follow the service at Dougherty Cemetery in Emory. Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan, Okla. and Wilson-Orwosky of Emory, Texas are handling the arrangements.

Marie was born Feb. 22, 1937 along with her twin sister, Martha Jane Dean, in Arlington to Joseph Albert and Hazel Lola (Beaber) Dean. She married the love of her life, Wilbur Booth in 1966. He preceded her in death in 1982. She found love again and married Bobby Ray Rodgers, formerly of Emory, Texas, in 1983. He preceded her in death in 2000. Her last marriage was to W.D. Gowin, formerly of Emory, in 2003. He passed away in 2015.

Survivors include one daughter, Sherry A. (Donald) Boyer of Duncan, Okla.; her grandchildren, Bridgette Marie (Ron) Rickard of Merritt Island, Fla., Deanna Marie (Benjamin) Bailey of Pace, Fla., Anthony John Leto of Cocoa, Fla., Joseph Dean, Sunshine Alisha, and Derick Hunter Booth, all of Fort Worth, Texas, James A. Booth of Rock Falls, and Christianna Renai Boyer of Panama City, Fla.; two great-granddaughters, Brianna Marie Rickard and Trinity Nicole Leto; her BFF (Best Friends Forever) Rebecca Arey, formerly of Point, Texas, now of Clovis, N.M., and Melissa Godsmith of Emory, Texas; many nieces and nephews whom she loved with her heart; her beloved church, Country Baptist Church; and many friends and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; one son, Thomas Wayne Booth, Sr. in 2019; four grandchildren, Thomas “TJ” Wayne Booth, Jr. in 1980, Jeffery D’Wayne Davis in 1973 and twins, Nicole Marie Leto and Nicholas John Leto in 1981; and six siblings, Richard G. (Bunny) Dean, Leonard L. (Joanne) Dean, Joseph D. (JoAnne) Dean, Esther M. (Ralph) Nornhold, Dorothy A. (John) Cook, and her twin sister, Martha J. (Roger) Fuller.

Marie graduated from Mendota Township High School with the Class of 1956 and often spoke of her many cherished classmates and shared many memories of her school years. She moved to Duncan, Okla. with her daughter and son-in-law in 2019 after living in Texas for 48 years when a job transfer from Daisy Sour Cream brought the family to Dallas.
