MENDOTA - Katherine E. Swanson, 93, of Ottawa, passed away April 2, 2021 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Ottawa.

Private graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7 at Restland Cemetery, Mendota with Rev. Mary Bohall of First United Methodist Church, Mendota officiating. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is handling arrangements.

Katherine was born Jan. 30, 1928 in Sublette to John and Josephine (Wittgan) Troupis. She married Harold K. Swanson on May 10, 1952 in Mendota. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1997.

Survivors include one niece and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a nephew.

Katherine was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mendota. She graduated from Mendota High School in 1946 and worked at Wayside Press in Mendota for 12 years.
