Girls' soccer posts 3 wins; moves to 12-5-1

MENDOTA – The Mendota girls’ soccer team cruised to an 8-0 triumph over Hinckley-Big Rock on April 21 at the MHS field.

Crystal Garcia paced the attack with four goals and two assists. Noemi Arteaga recorded two goals and one assist, while Kaley Siemer and Sienna Gonzalez collected one goal apiece. Other assists went to Kamilah Preciado, Laylie Denault and Kaeyle Brown.

Mendota handed Indian Creek a 3-1 setback on April 22 at the MHS field.

Lady Trojan goals were scored by Garcia, Arteaga and Ella Coss, while Garcia had two assists and Preciado added the other assist.

Mendota and Plano battled to a 1-1 tie on April 24 at the MHS field.

Garcia had the lone goal for the Lady Trojans.

The Lady Trojans pitched a 2-0 shutout over Oregon on April 26 at the MHS field.

Garcia and Zariah Escatel scored the Mendota goals with one assist from Preciado.

Mendota came up empty in a 2-0 loss at Stillman Valley on April 28.

MHS has a 12-5-1 record.
