MENDOTA – Mendota had trouble putting the ball in the basket and suffered a 56-19 setback to Rockford Christian in freshman boys’ basketball action on Feb. 10 at the MHS gym.
The Trojans scored only two points in the opening stanza compared to 19 for Christian. Mendota heated up slightly in the second quarter with 10 points, but then it went scoreless in the third frame as the visitors opened up a 40-point lead.
Mason Koch led the Trojans with seven points, while Owen Aughenbaugh and Ryan Stevenson added three points apiece.

The Trojans were taken down by Byron, 57-29, on Feb. 12 at the MHS gym.
Byron increased a 10-6 first-quarter lead to 28-15 at the half. Mendota was outscored 29-14 in the second half.
Jace Baird had 11 points to lead Mendota in scoring. Stevenson and Logan Wujek each had four points.
