MENDOTA - The American Red Cross held a blood drive on Feb. 8 at the Mendota Moose Family Center. There was a great turnout with 80 good units collected. This included 62 whole blood and 18 double red cell donations. Connie Ganz, Jason Hartman, Valerie Aguilera and William Shirey were first time donors. Everyone’s time and donation are greatly appreciated.
Volunteers for the day were Sandy Schroeder, Margy Frey, Kristi Carroll, Peg Mathesius-Cerveny, Lori Schlesinger and Lori Simonton. Mendota Subway again donated sandwiches for the donor luncheon. Mendota VFW Post 4079 also sponsored sandwiches and chips for the drive.
The next bloodmobile will be held on Tuesday, May 31 at the Mendota Moose Family Center. Please note that this is a 16-week gap instead of the normal eight. The April drive had to be cancelled due to Red Cross staffing shortages. If you would like to make an appointment or have questions, please call Lori at (815) 866-3582
