DIXON – Esther Marie Lachat, 80, of Dixon, formerly of Bemidji, Minn., passed away on March 19, 2022.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Funeral services will be on Thursday March 24, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to mass on March 24, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. 

She was born on Feb. 23, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Leona M. (Klein) Lachat.

Esther is survived by her grandson John, her siblings Eugene Lachat of Ozark, Ark., Francis (Dean Ann) Lachat of Amboy, Eileen Helfrich of Dodge City, Kan., Nora Woolley of Braselton, Ga., Jerome Lachat of Braselton, Ga., Therese (Chester) Smith of Franklin Grove, Michele (Larry) Houghtby of Waterman, Christina (David) Shaw of Amboy, her aunt Darlene Klein of Metamora, and uncle Norbert (Rose) Lachat of Russia Ohio. Esther is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many great nieces and nephews. 

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, significant other Andrew Janssen, and their daughter Andrea Janssen.

A memorial has been established to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy.  Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.
