EARLVILLE - Cynthia (Phalen) Schlesinger, 61, of Earlville passed away Jan. 23, 2021 with her husband, daughter and sister by her side.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Compton. When arriving to the visitation, please remain in your vehicle and you will be instructed when to enter the church. To respect COVID guidelines, three parties will be allowed to enter the church at one time. Masks are required and everyone is asked to adhere to COVID guidelines and social distance at all times. A private funeral service will follow the visitation.
Cindy was born March 2, 1959 in Peru to Patrick and Elaine (Green) Phalen. She married David Schlesinger.
Survivors include her loving husband of 28 years, David; her daughter, Jayde Schlesinger (Sam Lipp) and granddaughter, Eleanor Lipp of Springfield; her mother, Elaine Phalen of Peru; two sisters, Lane Bresticker of Elburn and Lori Meadows (Mike Ring) of Lake Villa; two sisters-in-law, Connie (Craig) Ganz of Mendota and Connie Schlesinger of Paw Paw; seven nephews and nieces, Brad (Marcia) Meadows, Blair Meadows (Jesse Furmanek), Michelle (Terrie) Bauer, Jason (Jamie) Ganz, Stephanie Ganz, Diane (Michael) Reppin and Scott (Katie) Schlesinger; and 5 great nephews and 2 great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Patrick Phalen; her father- and mother-in-law, Cliff and June Adell Schlesinger; and two brothers-in-law, Rob Bresticker and Ron Schlesinger.
Cindy graduated from LaSalle-Peru Township High School in 1977. She recently retired from Illinois Valley Community Hospital after working for 41 years as an ultrasonographer, always displaying compassion and devotion to her patients. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and community.
