LA SALLE - Auditions for Stage 212’s spring production, “Unnecessary Farce” by Paul Slade Smith, will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15 and at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16 at the Manahan Center, 700 First St., LaSalle.

The play, which tells the tale of a police sting operation on an embezzling mayor that goes hilariously wrong, will be directed by Joseph Ennenbach and produced by Larry Kelsey and Jessica Kreiser.

The cast consists of four men and three women ranging in age from the 20’s to the 70’s. The auditions will consist of readings from the script, but familiarity with the script is not a requirement to audition. Perusal scripts are available by contacting the director at (815) 488-0633 or at nnbox@hotmail.com.

Per current state-mandated COVID protocols, masks are required in the building except when actually auditioning. Stage 212 auditions are open to all, regardless of previous theatrical experience. Volunteers are also welcome for production crews.

“Unnecessary Farce” will be performed April 22-23-24 and 28-29-30-May 1.
