MENDOTA – Mendota High School is in search of a head football coach after Keegan Hill’s resignation was accepted by the District 280 Board of Education at its Nov. 18 meeting.
Hill just concluded his seventh season as the sideline boss for the Trojan varsity squad. He began his tenure in 2018 and compiled 10 wins and 47 losses over his seven years.
The Trojans’ best season under Hill came in 2021 when they finished the regular season with a 5-4 record and qualified for the Class 3A playoffs. Mendota lost its first-round playoff game to Pecatonica-Durand, 44-0.
Brock Zinke also resigned from the football coaching staff. He served as defensive coordinator under Hill and was a coach in the Mendota football program for 13 years.
