OREGON – Mendota rallied in the second half to post a 4-2 triumph over Oregon in varsity boys’ conference soccer action on Sept. 3 at Oregon.

Winnebago uses quick strikes to sink Trojans

MENDOTA – In the opening game of the season, Mendota’s opponent needed less than a minute and a half to score a touchdown. Winnebago nearly matched that in game two against the Trojans. The difference was that Mendota was able to temper the scoring against North Boone, while Winnebago visited the end zone on an all-too-frequent basis the rest of the game.

Spikers top Indian Creek, go winless in tournament

Mendota rolled to a 25-13, 25-19 victory over Indian Creek in varsity volleyball action on Sept. 4 at Shabbona.

MENDOTA – Byron’s varsity golfers gave Mendota all it could handle, but the Trojans pulled out a two-shot victory, 182-184, on Sept. 4 at the Mendota Golf Club.

Spikers claim 3-set thriller

MENDOTA – It was a successful start to the new season for the Mendota Spikers as they posted a thrilling 25-21, 21-25, 26-24 victory over Sandwich on Aug. 29 at the MHS gym. First-year coach Hallie Monroe got the victory in her first match on the Spiker bench.
