BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met for a special virtual meeting on Nov. 19, where the Board provided an update on winter sports.

Bromenschenkel signs with Purdue-Fort Wayne

MENDOTA – Amellia Bromenschenkel is moving on with the next stage of her basketball career. With Mendota High School suspending its basketball season due to the ongoing pandemic and the uncertainty of whether the 2020-21 season will ever be played, Bromenschenkel has made the difficult decision to graduate early and enter college at the end of the semester in December.

Hunter safety urged as firearm deer season nears

SPRINGFIELD – Hunters in Illinois should think safety before, during and after their time in the field this fall and winter as waterfowl, upland game, furbearer, and firearm and archery deer seasons provide ample opportunity to enjoy time in the outdoors in Illinois.

Illinois Elementary School Association makes decisions on winter & spring sports

BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois Elementary School Association Board of Directors met on Nov. 9 to address the winter and spring sports schedules after the announcement two weeks ago by the Governor's Office that basketball had been moved to the higher risk category of the Illinois All Sports Policy and the subsequent announcement by the IHSA that they are planning to move forward with their basketball season as scheduled in November.
