OTTAWA – The LaSalle County Medical Reserve Corps is partnering with North Central Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. to offer Youth Mental Health First Aid Training.
This is an internationally renowned, evidence-based course that will introduce the risk factors and warning signs of specific illnesses such as anxiety, depression, psychosis and addiction. Information about evidence-supported treatment programs will also be given. Participants will learn how to appropriately respond to situations where mental health crisis and need is identified. The training is designed for anyone who would like to learn more about mental health.
The class will take place from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18 at the LaSalle County Emergency Management Agency, 711 E. Etna Road, Ottawa.
Cost of the session is $25, which includes the manual and lunch.
