PERU - The Illinois Valley area will again host the Reunion of the TBM Avengers at the Illinois Valley Regional Airport in Peru. These historic World War II fighter aircraft will return to the area for the third year on Saturday, May 19. The Reunion is an all-day event with free admission and free parking.
This salute to veterans will include a squadron of up to 16 TBM Avengers, the largest such gathering in the U.S. Other highlights during the day will be a Veterans Parade and March, TBM Missing Man Flying Salute, and historic aircraft flights. See famous warbirds from World War II, Korea and Vietnam perform flight demonstrations, formation flying and simulated torpedo runs. In addition to up close viewing of these restored aircraft, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of historical displays and learn more about aviation history. Helicopter rides will be available to purchase.
