ROCKFORD – The Mendota Lady Trojans tied for fourth place and the Trojans took sixth in the Rockford Christian Invitational on April 22 at Rockford.
The Mendota girls scored 56 points, equal to that of Belvidere. St. Teresa easily claimed the team title with 187.5 points, followed by Rockford Auburn (102) and Rockford Christian (92.5). There were 11 teams in the meet.
The Lady Trojans had one first-place finish, which belonged to Lydia Willis in the shot put with a heave of 36-3.75.
For the boys, the Trojans scored 50.5 points. Finishing ahead of them were Rockford Christian (188), Auburn (101), Harvest Christian (98), Pecatonica-Durand (76.5) and Dakota (53). Ten teams were entered.
Austin Lipe had the only first-place showing for the Trojans when he sailed 37-9 in the triple jump.
