PRINCETON – Mendota’s track teams went up against five other schools in the Ferris Invitational on April 17 at Princeton.

The Lady Trojans earned 120 points and finished in fifth place. Rock Falls won with 217 points.

Mendota placed first in three events. Lydia Willis had a pair of top finishes, winning the shot put at 34-1 and claiming the discus at 115-8. Lauren Schimmer had the other first for MHS in the high jump at 4-9.

In the boys’ competition, Mendota was sixth with 91 points, while Princeton took first with 275.

Jonathan Patino (800 run, 2:13.9) and Eli Otterbach (high jump, 5-11) finished third in their events for the best performances in the meet by the Trojans.
