MENDOTA - Wanda D. Boyle, 86, of Mendota passed away Sept. 22, 2017 at Heritage Health, Mendota where she resided for the last seven months.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Jerry Graham officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at the funeral home.
Wanda was born June 14, 1931 in Mendota to Daniel and Ella Mae (Gillette) Mahar. She married Edward Boyle. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Survivors include one daughter, Georgette Wheeler of Mendota; one son, Michael E. Boyle of Green Valley; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her Chihuahua, Mocha Su.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and nine siblings, Lois Alexander, Esther Hjort, Eldridge Mahar, Rodger Mahar, Donald Mahar, Harry Mahar, Keith Mahar, Marjorie Mahar, and Gladys Mahar.
Wanda worked at Conco, Inc. and Caron Yarn Company. Her best job was caring for her family and her many companion dogs throughout her life. She especially enjoyed family fishing trips to Chetek, Wis., which were the basis of many great stories to smile about and share with others. She was known for her great wit and compassion and having a charismatic way of sharing and spreading laughter with those around her.
