WALNUT - The Walnut 5K Run/Walk for ALS Research will take place on Saturday, July 6 in Walnut. The race will begin at 8 a.m.
Advance registration may be completed at runsignup.com (search for the Walnut 5K) or call (815) 303-7726 and request an entry form be sent. Participants may also sign up the morning of the race from 6:45-7:45 a.m. at the tent located south of Bureau Valley North School.
This will be a 3.1-mile course through the streets of Walnut with the turn around point close to the Walnut water tower. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female and medals will be given to the top three finishers in 15 age groups. Bib chip timing and professional scoring will be done by Racing Expectations.
